Know your Pirates wrestling history?

The Ottawa High School wrestling program and head coach Pete Marx are seeking records from the Pirates program predating 1994, especially individual records. Those with history they're willing to share can contact Coach Marx at pmarx@ottawahigh.com.

Youth tennis program coming to La Salle

The USTA/Midwest Section is offering a Midwest Youth Team Tennis program for children in the area. It is an introductory program and open to players of all levels, grades K-8. The cost is $69 per player (which includes racquet, t-shirt and goodie bag) for the program, which runs 5-5:45 p.m. for younger kids and 6-7 p.m. for fourth-eighth graders June 4-27 at Hegeler Park in La Salle.

Free safe boating classes this summer

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will offer a free, family-friendly Illinois Safe Boating class at the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center at Starved Rock Lock and Dam on April 28, May 19, June 23, July 14 and August 18 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The classroom-based class is recommended for anyone wanting to increase his or her safe boating knowledge, with anyone over the age of 12 able to be certified. For more information, contact the center at 815-667-4054.
