London L. Weems, 27, Ottawa, was arrested Tuesday on a La Salle County warrant for failure to appear on a felony charge of obstructing justice. Weems was taken to La Salle County Jail, needing $1,000 for release.
A 16-year-old boy, Ottawa, was arrested Tuesday on a La Salle County warrant for a charge of theft, complaints of criminal trespass, resisting a peace officer, possession of stolen motor vehicle and burglary. He was taken to the detention home.
Shelby Nelson, 41, homeless, was arrested Tuesday on the 300 block of West Lafayette Street on a warrant for failure to appear on an unlawful failure to register as a violent offender against youth charge. Nelson was taken to La Salle County Jail.
A bicycle and medicine was reported stolen sometime overnight Monday from the 500 block of Montgomery Street.
Streator firefighters responded 8:13 p.m. Tuesday to an alarm at 606 E. Morrell St. There was no fire.
Ottawa firefighters responded at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday to 900 Paul St. for an alarm activated by cooking odors.
At 2:55 a.m. Tuesday, Ottawa firefighters responded to 400 E. Washington St. for an alarm activated by cooking odors.
Ottawa firefighters responded at 6:27 a.m. Monday to 1416 Shaws for a CO alarm. The detectors were faulty and firefighters advised they be replaced.
A downed power line started a small fire at Marquette and Chestnut streets in Ottawa at about 8 p.m. Monday. The fire was out as firefighters arrived. They closed the intersection until the power company was on scene.
