A report was made Tuesday morning a suspect opened numerous Verizon accounts in another person's name, without authorization.

According to a Tuesday report, the back window of a vehicle was damaged the previous night at 609 N. Everett St.

Report of theft and fraud at 302 N. Park St. were made Tuesday morning.

A driver reported at 6:29 p.m. Tuesday another driver displayed a gun at Bridge and Monroe streets, after the first driver confronted the second driver about pulling out in front of him. The second driver left before police arrived.

Sarah Beavers, 49, Streator, was arrested at 2:02 a.m. Wednesday in the alley of the 500 block of East Main Street, on complaints of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign. She was given a court date.


A report was received at 9:22 p.m. Tuesday a person walked suspiciously through a back yard in the 1400 block of Ottawa Avenue.

A report came in at 7:54 p.m. Tuesday of an attempted burglary or trespass in the 1000 block of Hitt Street.

La Salle County

Russell Farley, 30, rural Earlville, was arrested at 12:13 p.m. Tuesday at his home on a domestic battery warrant. He was taken to the county jail.

DeKalb County

A Volkswagon Jetta driven by Jeffery A. Atwell, 40, Somonauk, went off the road on gravel, hit a power pole and landed upside down in a creek at about 5:10 p.m. Tuesday at Sandwich and Bastian roads. Passersby pulled him from his car, with one of them giving CPR. He was flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

Fire Calls

Streator firefighters responded at 2 p.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of North Monroe Street, where utility wires were down.

Streator firefighters responded at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to Everett and Morrell streets, for a report of a bicycle accident. However, firefighters found no one at the scene when they arrived.
