A report was received a vehicle was sideswiped by an unknown car at Columbus Street and Norris Drive at about 1:19 p.m. Friday. The car left blue paint on the vehicle's passenger side.

La Salle County

Robert Martin, 60, Peru, was arrested at 9:58 a.m. Sunday at his home on a warrant for criminal damage to property. He posted bond at the county jail.

A vehicle driven by Jacob Jaszemski, 28, Oglesby, collided with a vehicle driven by Julie Ashton, 33, Marseilles, at about 10:45 a.m. Saturday at North 31st and East 1961st roads, just northeast of Ottawa. Two passengers in Jaszemski's vehicle were taken to OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Jaszemski was arrested on complaints of DUI, driving while license suspended, diosbeying a stop sign, no insurance and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was taken to the county jail.

A vehicle driven by Kenneth Haas, 45, Triumph, collided with a vehicle driven by Nicholas Dimmig, 20, Streator, at about 1:50 a.m. Sunday at East 12th and North 39th roads in Ophir Township. There were no injuries. Haas was cited on a complaint he disobeyed a stop sign.

Fire Calls

Ottawa firefighters responded at 8:27 a.m. Saturday to 2710 Columbus St., where an SUV's engine was on fire. The vehicle was a total loss.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 2:11 p.m. Sunday to 1007 Douglas St. for a reported natural gas leak. The leak was coming from a fitting on a water heater.
