OTTAWA — Jean Inez Brewer, 93, of Ottawa, died Wednesday morning, July 11, at The Gardens Park Pointe in Morris.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with the Rev. Tim Underwood, pastor of the Illinois Valley Evangelical Free Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Comstock Cemetery in Pardeeville, Wis. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Jean was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Scott Township, Wis., to Stuart Freeman and Inez May (Vanderhoef) Gorsuch. She was a graduate of Pardeeville High School in Pardeeville, Wis., and went to the Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Chicago.
She married Forrest Junior Brewer on June 1, 1947, at the home of her parents in Pardeeville.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Ann (Timothy) Funte, of Mazon; a son, Steven (Shirley) Brewer, of Normal; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy van den Berg and Marilyn Bradley; and a brother, Clyde (Frances) Gorsuch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest, on Oct. 18, 2004; and two sons, David Harold in infancy and Forrest Douglas.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Girls Vocational School in the Ivory Coast in Africa.
