Anyone who bought a MegaMillions ticket from the North Side Kroger in Ottawa may want to check their ticket.
The grocery store sold a $1,000,000 winning MegaMillions ticket in the Tuesday, July 10, drawing.
The winning quick pick ticket matched all five numbers 01, 17, 28, 56 and 70 to win the prize. The retailer will receive a bonus of $10,000, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
The Illinois Lottery urges the winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they visit one of the lottery’s five Prize Centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights. Winners have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize.
More than 37,000 players won prizes ranging from $2 to $1,000,000 in this Mega Millions drawing. The drawings take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 p.m. For more information on the drawings, go to illinoislottery.com.
