Armon D. Tuntland



OTTAWA — Armon Dean Tuntland, 96, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, July 30, at Pleasant View.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall. Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home and Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.

Armon was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Norway, Ill., the son of Elmer and Vivian (Larson) Tuntland. He married Lulu May “Bessie” Keith on June 27, 1945. She preceded him in death Oct. 27, 2008.

Surviving are his children, Larry (Pat) Tuntland, of Greenville, Tenn., Duane (Sue) Tuntland, of Ottawa, Cindy Sprowls, of Ottawa, Karen (Doug) Strahl, of Madisonville, Ky., Stephen Tuntland, of Chile, South America, Kevin (Cecilia) Tuntland, of Shabbona, and Bradley (Suzanne) Tuntland, of Ottawa; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Armon was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he was active in the ministry. He loved farming, playing UNO and taking rides in the country. He enjoyed going to Culver's. He was devoted to his family and cherished his time spent with them and his dog, Snooky.
