AREA ROUNDUP: Raiders, Bobcats soccer score Little Ten wins

WATERMAN — Devyn Kennedy scored one goal and assisted another Wednesday, leading Earlville-Leland-Paw Paw soccer to a Little Ten Conference road victory 5-2 over host Indian Creek.

Jared Fries added two goals for the Red Raiders, Manny Gomez tallied one goal and one assist, Johan Rico scored a goal, and Tim McNally recorded one assist.

Somonauk 6, Serena 0

At Somonauk, the host Bobcats blanked the Huskers to improve to 4-4-2 overall (1-0-1 in Little Ten play).

Drew Westbrook and Cameron Davis each put in two goals for Somonauk, with Jonathan Matejovsky adding one as well. Westbrook and Franzone recorded two assists apiece.

Boys golf

Ottawa 170, Sandwich 227

At Pine Hills, the host Pirates (3-2) defeated their future conference foe handily, led by medalist TJ McDonnell's 39. Drake Stoudt and Kaden Harth each added 43s, with Caden Ericzon carding a 45 to round out the OHS scorecard.

For Sandwich, Connor Wilson scored a 49 to lead the Indians, with 59s from Tyler Bols and Ryan Pruski.

Putnam Co. 184, Midland 197, Seneca 202

At Edgewood Park, the Irish were topped in Tri-County Conference action to fall to 3-3 on the league loop. A.J. Stiegler (48), Holden Flynn (48), Brett Yegge (52) and Alex Stiegler (54) accounted for Seneca's four-man score.

Girls golf

Dwight 222, Sandwich 248, Plano 249

At Dwight Country Club, the Lady Indians (6-6) were led by a 54 off the clubs of Alijah Campbell. Josie Gonzalez (63), Morgan Ross (64) and Grace Donahue (67) rounded out the Sandwich scorecard.

Volleyball

Somonauk def. Hiawatha 23-25, 25-19, 25-14

On Tuesday, the Lady Bobcats received a seven-kill, four-block showing at the net from Katy Tripp, four kills from Grace Gozder and a pair of additional kills courtesy of Chloe Kulton.

At Chicago, Keegan Johnson scored a 36-footer off a Sean Pou assist for the Eagles' score. Hunter Bannon recorded a half dozen saves.
