A Streator man, while dressed in black, burglarized a home Wednesday night, according to Streator police.
Randall P. Nichols, 20, is charged with entering a home Wednesday in the 300 block of East Wilson Street and stealing a purse. Streator police said officers responded to the area and found a man, who turned out to be Nichols, matching the burglar's description. Nichols was taken to the La Salle County Jail.
Nichols was put on probation earlier this year for sexual battery and two vehicle burglaries, but prosecutors moved in the summer to have his probation revoked, saying Nichols used cocaine, marijuana and alcohol, missed probation office appointments and failed to obtain a mental health evaluation. At the time of Nichols' arrest Wednesday, proceedings were still pending to revoke his probation.
