To the Editor:
As I see it, there is a disease among us and it is not medical. Rock Island vs. GM.
Back in the 40s and 50s Rock Island was one of the biggest and most profitable railroads in the country.
Soon in those early years Rock Island had more people on high pensions, retired, than they had "working" on the "railroad." This led to bankrupts for Rock Island. I think this is happening now with GM. People living longer, executives especially, high pensions with early retirement.
P.S. Do a little "home work" and you will see why.
