Streator police responded to a complaint at 6:24 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of South Bloomington Street of a vehicle's windshield being damaged overnight.
La Salle County
Amanda Curry, 40, Peru, was cited at about 7 p.m. Monday on complaints of failure to report an accident to police authority and leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage. Curry was driving northbound on East Third Road near North 39th Road when she lost control of her vehicle on multiple occasions. Curry entered the ditch on multiple occasions damaging the front of her vehicle and abandoned her vehicle several miles from the scene of the accident. Curry was released and given a notice to appear.
A 16-year-old male was in a single-vehicle accident at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday on East 23rd Road near Route 34 in Adams Township. He lost control of the vehicle in the southbound lane and entered a ditch where he struck a utility pole. The 16-year-old was taken to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich by Somonauk Ambulance.
The La Salle County Sheriff's Office reported two vehicle accidents caused by ice-covered roadways on Wednesday evening. There were no citations or injuries.
Ottawa firefighters responded at 4 p.m. Tuesday to 906 Canal for a fire alarm caused by cooking.
Ottawa firefighters responded at 5:23 p.m. Wednesday to 633 Epworth Place for a kitchen fire. The fire was controlled and residents had exited the building prior to the firefighters' arrival.
Streator firefighters responded at 12:01 p.m. Wednesday to 1308 Dalton St. for a report of a phone line down in the roadway.
Streator firefighters responded at 5:13 p.m. Wednesday to 317 W. Third St. for a complaint of an illegal fire but the location was outside the city limits.
