Psych records could figure in Ottawa murder case

The prosecution wants to use psychiatric records in an Ottawa murder case.

Kenneth Cusick, 51, was charged in February 2017 with murdering his wife, Tracy Cusick, in 2006 in their Ottawa home. Jury trial is set for Monday, March 4.

Prosecutors filed court papers Tuesday saying Tracy saw a psychiatrist from May 2000 until her death, and in the year leading up to her death, had reported marital problems to her psychiatrist. Prosecutors want judicial permission to use this information, because they said it is relevant, given they believe Tracy's husband murdered her.

The prosecution also wants to have a friend of Tracy's testify Tracy had confided about serious problems in her marriage.

The next court hearing is Thursday, Jan. 31.
