PERU — The Ottawa Pirates boys bowling team placed fifth, and high roller Vinnie Parise secured all-conference honors Wednesday at the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference Meet held at Illinois Valley Super Bowl in Peru.
Vinnie Parise shot a six-game 1,194 series (235, 212, 208 high games) and placed fourth in the conference to earn All-NIB 12 honors. Zander Parise wasn't far behind, marking a 1,155 series (235, 243, 192 high games).
Irish dominate in home quad
At Seneca, the host Fighting Irish scored three victories — 63-12 over Mooseheart, 60-16 vs. Marquette and 45-24 over St. Bede — in a home quadrangular.
Wilson Widman (one fall, two forfeits), Cole Biffany (one fall, two forfeits), Joey Hatz (one fall, one dec., one forfeit) and Edgar Reyes (one fall, one maj. dec., one forfeit) each scored three victories for Seneca on the night. Luke Sangston (fall, forfeit), Jaden Casey (tech. fall, forfeit), D.J. Allen (two forfeits), Wade Tondini (two forfeits) and Jackson Beene (two falls) scored two victories apiece for the hosts.
Logan Petre (pinfall), Maverick McAlpine (pinfall) and Hunter McAlpine (maj. dec.) recorded Marquette's three individual wins in its match with Seneca.
