BUZZ EXTRA: Pinheadz temporarily closed

Pinheadz Entertainment Center in Ottawa has temporarily closed, according to statements made by the business on Facebook.

According to a Facebook post, the bowling alley, 1758 Ottawa Ave., does not have a scheduled reopening date yet.

"We understand completely how frustrating not being able to give an exact date of reopening. We are working very hard to get back open. We know that you want to see our business open and running again as quickly as possible," the business said on Facebook.

Another post by the business noted a temporary hold on their liquor license and owners were "working with the State" to resolve the issue, according to a post on May 2.

The Times reached out to the business on Facebook, and the responder declined to comment further on the closure.

The Kendall County Record reported on the closure of their Yorkville location and spoke to owner Greg O'Leary who said the business had been trying to refinance and got behind on some state taxes.

"We got ourselves to a point where we needed some financial restructuring and the speed at which that could happen just hasn't happened fast enough," O'Leary told the Kendall County Record.

Ottawa's location was originally Dettore's West Bowling Alley before purchase by a new owner in May 2014 when it became Pinheadz Entertainment Center. The Times reported in August 2014 that it was owned by Steve and Debbie Brykczynski, as well as their business partner O'Leary.
