Fall Trash to Treasure sale returns Sept. 25

The Child Welfare Guild's semiannual Trash to Treasure fall sale will return 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Ottawa VFW Post, 1501 La Salle St., Ottawa. 

The sale will include toys, books, housewares, clothing for adults and children and more. All proceeds from the sale benefit organizations for children within the Ottawa community, such as the Ottawa YMCA, Opportunity School, Camp Tuckabatchee, ADV/SAS, Feed His Children, and Under His Wings.

The Child Welfare Guild is a charitable organization in Ottawa founded in 1932 to collect and donate necessities to the nursery at Ryburn King Hospital. 

The Guild also sponsors a tutoring program for children in Ottawa grade schools and has donated clothing items to Central Intermdiate School, Shepherd Middle School, Ottawa High School and Under His Wings.

The Guild usually conducts two rummage sales each year — one in the spring and one in the fall.
