Subscribers receive free turkeys, donate some to food pantry
The NewsTribune circulation department witnessed firsthand the generosity of some area residents today.
Today was NewsTribune Customer Appreciation Day, and customers who showed up at 426 Second St. to renew for the year could take home a free turkey — 10 to 14 pounds. The NewsTribune also served free popcorn, coffee and doughnuts.
A number of NewsTribune subscribers donated their turkeys to the Illinois Valley Food Pantry.
“We’d like to thank the subscribers who donated their turkeys to the food pantry,” said Mike Miller, NewsTribune circulation manager.
