The Streator Leading Ladies met Nov. 21, at Chipper's Grill. Megan Iverson was welcomed as a guest. Dodi Callister, Kathy Iverson and Judy Feddeler won door prizes. Tara Bedei was in charge for the evening.
President Pam Riss introduced the speaker for the evening, Andy Hinterlong, who spoke on the topic of concealed carry. He mentioned one should purchase a gun that fits your hand, and it is legal to carry a concealed gun in Illinois.
Riss conducted the business meeting. Profits from the lark Kringle sale at the Nov. 30 Holiday Market will be directed to the scholarship program. Members will ring bells at the Streator Kroger on Dec. 4.
The next meeting will be Thursday, Dec. 19, with a program from Kyle Wheeler on "Our Nation's Capital." In charge for the evening will be Beckie Chismarick. Members are to bring a $5 lottery card in place of a gift exchange, as well as socks, mittens and gloves to be given to Safe Journeys.
Leading Ladies welcomes anyone to visit a meeting and become a member. Dues are $25 per year. Ladies is a nonsectarian, nonpartisan and nonprofit organization focused on helping the Streator area through education, community involvement and service.
