On May 31, the La Salle County Health Department partnered with Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating to provide an Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program presentation and enrollment outreach to the employees of Seattle Sutton.
SSHE employees learned of the importance of early detection when it comes to breast and cervical cancer. They learned of the neccesity of screening, and the risks and adverse outcomes of undetected or late stage cancers. The employees were then given the opportunity to enroll in IBCCP, which provides free mammograms and pap tests to women who are La Salle or Grundy County residents and are between the ages of 35-64 and have no insurance, or are under-insured, or have high deductibles, regardless of income.
