Police continue searching Illinois River for missing Ottawa woman, belongings found at Starved Rock State Park

The search for a missing Ottawa woman continues on the Illinois River.

Police on Tuesday still were searching for Tina Donovan, 45, of Ottawa, who was reported missing to the Ottawa Police Department on Jan. 14 by a family member. Her vehicle was found at Starved Rock Lodge and personal belongings later were found at Starved Rock State Park.

Conservation Police Sgt. Phil Wire said police continue their search along the Illinois River. The search efforts may take a month or longer before answers are available as to Donovan's whereabouts.

Wire said conservation police are taking sonar equipment to segments of the river that are of interest. The area is marked if something is found and teams from Ottawa River Rescue, Reddick Fire Department and Peru River Rescue are searching the area with drag bars and hooks.

Anyone with information about Donovan should call Conservation Police at 815-632-4010.
