LETTER: Not what you say, but what you do

To the Editor:

I’m not real big on what’s going on in the political landscape, because most people know their beliefs and what they want from their politicians. But after reading that Sen. Richard Durbin said, “Take a hard look before voting again for Trump,” that got me interested.

Democrats have loathed Donald Trump, from the night he defeated Clinton. Impeach was said that very night. Who’s the dividers? They still can’t accept it, three years later. Get over it.

Then, take a look at (their) candidates: Joe Biden, who’s probably a bigger con-artist than Trump. Elizabeth Warren, who is running on giving everything away free, which everyone knows is not attainable. And Bernie Sanders, a Socialist with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as an endorser. Get rid of ICE and open up the borders even more. Really? There are others, but I think these three are the Democrats’ top three.

I’m voting for Trump, even though unpolished, arrogant, brash and not very eloquent, but I’m voting on what he has accomplished, not what he says. All without any help from the other side of the aisle. He could come up with a cure for cancer, and they would find fault. Thank you senator, for making me think.

Remember Trump voters, don’t believe the polls and the left-leaning media, go out and vote in November. Remember the old saying: It’s not what you say, it’s what you do.

DAN MISSEL, of Streator
