The Perfectly Flawed Foundation will host an Overdose Prevention Training event from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 29, in the vacated space next to Maurice’s in the Peru Mall. This free training will teach the importance of proper training needed to prevent overdose deaths.
Participants will learn about Naloxone, a drug that can reverse the effect of opioid overdoses, how to recognize an opioid overdose, how to administer Naloxone, how to train others to administer Naloxone and the steps to take until first emergency medical technicians arrive. Attendees also will receive a free emergency overdose rescue kit that includes Naloxone.
This event is free and public for those 18 and older with no registration necessary. For questions, contact the Perfectly Flawed Foundation at 815-830-8675.
