To the Editor:
(I'm) not a Democrat or Republican. Call me a "realist," and reality to me is that four more years of government as it is now will put this country in a hole that we'll never be able to dig ourselves out of. I read a passage from a study Bible that hits home for me. Humility was the topic and it said humility boils down to having an honest estimate of ourselves before God.
False humility involves projecting negative worth on our abilities and efforts. Pride in inflating the value of our efforts or looking down on others. Sound familiar?
True humility seeks to view our accomplishments and character honestly. Is a person with an over-inflated ego whose lust for greed and power and no concept of the word "truth" really going to make this country and world better for future generations? I say ... no!
